A few weeks ago we had our fireplace and surround removed. We were happy with our decision to pay someone to remove it since there ended up being a thick concrete block that needed to be jack hammered out. Phew! Measurements were immediately after the removable and now we wait. Our hope is the project will be completed in the next three weeks but something tells me that it will take longer then that. We are currently waiting on the cabinet maker to build the upper part of the surround -- a bead board insert that the TV will be attached to. Here is what our living room currently looks like -- and below that are a few inspirational pictures that helped with our design. I hate waiting....
