ME: I don't know how to procrastinate. I've tried and I suck at it -- it's too stressful. I'm efficient but like to cut corners, so much so that I am often running into door frames or stubbing my toes. I time myself when I empty the dishwasher. I think carwashes are a ripoff. I don't pay attention to fine detail so don't bother asking me to help paint your living room, scrapbook or make a gourmet meal. Tried all three and failed miserably. I try to put people at ease by using my immature and often crude sense of humour and sometimes it get awkward. I love to hug people. That gets awkward sometimes too. The only ice cream I truly like is peanut butter. I'm terrible at finding new shows to watch. I am a high school teacher and I LOVE it. My students keep me young yet make me feel like an old fart all at the same time. My husband, my daughter (4) and my son (1) are the loves of my life. I rarely make it through a movie without falling asleep. I grew up in the city and now live in a small town. I cannot resist ordering a Caesar if I see someone else sipping on one. I have an entire cupboard full of candles and always have this urge to purchase more. Tulips are my favourite flower. I am an open book. I tell it how it is, in the most respectful way possible. My husband and I welcomed our first little peanut on April 2nd, 2014 and we couldn't be more excited especially since we struggled for years with infertility. On March 1st, 2017 we welcomed our son who we became pregnant with without fertility treatment. Lastly, I am a firm believe that people who are important to me should always know just how much they mean to me. Hey you, I love you. Thanks for everything. You've been amazing. Keep up the great work.
MY BLOG: For the first two years of having my blog it was called "Cooking with Modesty". Every post had a recipe - either a recipe I created or an existing recipe that I altered. While I had a ton of fun writing solely about food, I found that after 300 food posts it was time to broaden my horizons. Don't get be wrong, I still want to write about food but I want the opportunity to write about anything and everything. Enter "This is Jill". My hope for this new blog is to write a little more frequently and about a wide variety of topics including parenthood. Please note that I make spelling and grammatical errors constantly but I'm totally ok with it. Sorry if you aren't. Deal with it. Update 2018 - I haven’t written in years and am going to try to post something every now and then. Fingers crossed!
