On April 2nd, 2014 my husband and I welcomed our baby girl to the world. She arrived 4 weeks early at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia complications. Our hearts are bursting with love and pride with the arrival of our little peanut. She is absolutely perfect.
I was induced on April 1st after my amazing OB decided that she didn't want to push it any longer. She was confident that our baby girl was 'cooked' enough and decided that the risks to my body were too high if we were to push delivery any longer. Turns out she made a great decision - although our little peanut was only 4 lbs 5 oz at birth, her lungs, blood sugar levels, and basically all functioning was bang on! She spent 5 days in the NICU and was discharged once she proved to the nurses that she was able to maintain her own body temperature and pack back food like nobody's business.
We are home and loving life. I will write about my delivery experience in detail later but I want to say that everything has been 100% better than I anticipated - I'm feeling great in my new role. Off I go to feed the little peanut.
